Checking Herself Out

If you remember here (and a bunch of other mentions throughout her life) she has always liked her reflection.  That hasn’t changed.  You can’t see it but she’s checking herself out in the french doors! It made me laugh because of her expression and that she is getting every angle!!

We were so happy to enjoy a proper spring day running in the garden and getting some color.  Finally, in the middle of April we have some spring weather…though I really shouldn’t complain because since I am running considerably hotter than anyone else right now any warmer weather is going to make me miserable and that means that everyone will suffer!  LOL. Adam, watch out!!!

Silly Goose

We’ve entered a phase…no matter the question the answer is always ‘NO!’.  Problem is, Amelia doesn’t always mean no.  It’s frustrating and has led to an argument here and there because she is so intent on her answer until she realizes that whatever I offered will not be given without the right response.  Does it always have to be a battle?  No!

When it comes to taking pictures I can be walked all over because there is no way that I am going to get what I want by shrugging my shoulders and putting the camera away.  Today she wanted pictures but she didn’t say yes…she laid down, turned to me and smiled but by the time I had moved the camera so I could see through the viewfinder, this is what I got…

25 Weeks

04.07.13

Well, I have finally managed to get a picture!  I wanted to get some of Amelia and I together and, since I have been emailed a couple of times, a picture of me.  I have to say, despite the hole-picking that I have been doing about how I look, I love how these turned out.  Whether I like how I look or not (no one likes having their picture taken), Amelia will love them and that’s what counts…adding memories to our family albums…

25weeks

So far everything has been the same as Amelia, well except for wanting cake (I really don’t want it)…heartburn sucks, everything is widening and I have my own climate!!! It’s great :)

Birthday Morning

What a busy morning!

Bombarded with balloons at 5:30am, a present opening fest, s’more’s pancakes (not forgetting the candles to blow out), school and her celebration of life, homemade strawberry muffins and then onto the playground with her buddies.  That took us to 11:45…the afternoon was much of the same with more presents from Betty & Baz and later a visit to see Grandma & Grandpa Pizzo for more goodies before homemade pizza.  Not surprisingly, she was in bed before 6pm.

The Zoo

03.18.13

The weather looked to be great so we headed to the zoo a weekend early. If there was ever a doubt about whether the zoo was right for her birthday, it was quashed once we got there. Amelia’s face lit up and we knew we had made the right choice. It’s a hard call as to which she preferred more, the ponies or feeding the giraffes. Either way, I hope that she’ll remember it in years to come. Even if it’s only a flash of a memory.

Her Electra

One of the many spoils that Amelia received over Christmas was an amazing Electra bike.  I am not going to lie…I really would like one too.  For one, it won’t be long before I can’t keep up walking alongside Amelia and, for another, I could use the exercise.

When she first saw it she was so incredibly exited but the only drawback was that she refused to actually pedal, preferring her slaves to push her around instead.  that wasn’t going to last long.  Well it all changed this weekend.  She threw herself into it and was very proud!!

Roanoke

It was dawn on a Friday when we took to the car
Over hills and some mountains – it was really quite far.
Our target was Roanoke to visit with friends
After nine grizzly hours our journey did end.
With smiles on our faces, kisses and hello’s
Not too long after the kids’ giggling arose!
We ate pizza for dinner while we shared all our news
The kids went to bed, while we drank some booze.
 
Saturday morning the kids played in the den
Shouting, “ready set go” they raced again and again!
After lunch we set out for a trek to the park
We got some fresh air and the kids had a lark.
Back at the house preparing dinner for seven
We had chicken Caesar and we all were in heaven.
Then off for a bath and some books then their beds
Went Amelia and Archer – the sleepyheads!
Us adults sat up and watched TV for a while
But soon sleep overcame us – late nights aren’t our style.
 
Sunday was a big day and we were ready around ten
So we could go for a drive then another walk again.
After lunch the kids got into more acceptable clothes
Then we visited trains at the museum, while Veva dozed.
Amelia was shattered by late in the day
So she went for a nap then continued to play.
Once again the kids raced while the fish was prepared
Everyone was hungry – even Ad wasn’t scared!
With the kids in their beds, off to dreamland they soared
While we watched a movie – no surprises that Ad snored!
 
Monday morning came too soon and we were all a bit sad
With lumps in our throats we talked of the fun we’d all had.
Adam packed the car up; I made sure there wasn’t more
Then we hugged, said our goodbyes and headed out the door.

Halloween…Fairy Style

I shouldn’t be on here…I have a heap of other editing to do but I figured it wouldn’t matter for five minutes…

Well here it is, the dress!  She had a blast with her school friends running from house to house stockpiling her loot.  And, as has become customary, Adam is currently wading through it…I can hear him LOL.

Of course she did manage to barge past one couple and get up one flight of stairs before I could catch her!!  Crazy lady :)

It was a fun evening meeting new friends and catching up…

Life On The Ocean Waves

Oh, what fun she had…and so very well behaved.  A little spin in Baz’s new toy…I think this may become a hot spot for her.  When I was getting the straps all set this morning she refused to take it off and ate breakfast wearing it…not terribly comfy!

Still, it looks like she has taken to boating as I did when I was little…

Post Nap

I have been meaning to get pictures of Amelia’s post nap hair for a while.  I always say she looks a cross between Bon Jovi and Farrah Fawcett.  Crazy.  Although today was only the front, you get the gist. It goes from a pretty do to mayhem!

As luck would have it, she was in the mood for some pictures and so we did.  She played with her new car (that holds jelly beans) that Grandma bought her, jumped on bubble wrap (because who doesn’t love to pop that stuff) and got her shoes on to see Daddy!!

Love that she was in the mood :)
