Preparing

We decided to go over to Fripp this weekend and warm it up…it was actually warmer outside than inside which is why Amelia is sporting a hat.  With Mum coming this week we wanted to make the place warm enough to want to sleep in so we got the heating running and the hot water heater on.  Since the dreaded yellow pollen has started to coat our cars and make everyone feel like they’ve been punched in the nose (you know that feeling where your eyes are almost watering, your nose is almost itching whilst also bordering on pain) we have all been feeling a little under the weather.  So to help make sure that Amelia didn’t also catch a cold from the Fripp house we dressed appropriately and had her running up and down.  We still only really warmed up after we had left though…so thankful for seat warmers :)

Bon voyage Betty…safe travels…we’ll see you when you get here!! xo

Over Pink

We are so over pink in this house.  I still like it but everything doesn’t have to be pink.  Now that Amelia has hair and allows me to style it, I can choose any color to dress her in without worrying that every other person at the supermarket will ask whether she’s a boy or a girl.  I hated that stage.  So, whilst we definitely embrace the pinks from time to time, we also love blues and greens too.  I love love love the whole look she has going on in these pictures.  I am also convinced that getting her to keep glasses on during the summer will be easy…phew, one less thing to worry about LOL!

We all look forward to our kids having certain amounts of independence and making their own choices, but I do hope when she starts putting ensembles together that she can still keep them stylin’!  I truly think I will be devastated if she doesn’t love being a fashionista.  What would I do?!

I have yet to decide whether I’m enjoying the oddly warm winter we’re having or not.  70′s in January just seems wrong.  One last cold snap would be great…hats scarves and boots.  Winter can’t really be over can it?

She Loves S’mores Pancakes…

and not just any s’mores pancakes…they’re dairy AND gluten free!!  Yes, it’s possible and yes they taste a-mazing (that’s a unanimous agreement)!

Every week I wonder what I can do for pictures and every week I manage something…I just couldn’t resist the yummery enthusiasm that came with these pancakes.  Sorry that the color is off (I can’t be perfect all of the time) ;)

With treats like these I have a feeling that 2012 may not be the year to stay trim and bathing suit ready!

Celebrity Status

It’s never intentional and it goes to show I don’t pay attention but a few times since we have been home (all 13 days), Amelia and I have left the house wearing the same outfit.  Seriously.  There’s a pattern too, whenever we dress the same it’s because I can’t muster up the effort to put her in something outstanding and, instead, I take the attitude “Oh, this’ll do”.  Lol.  It makes me laugh because on most days I envy her clothes and wish I could dress that way and look all hip and grown up.  What I actually do though is say “Oh, this’ll do”.  So, if you see us matching, you know that I haven’t taken much care over Amelia’s ensemble.  Luckily though, I can say that Adam and I haven’t quite reached that stage of our marriage where WE leave the house wearing the same.  I’m sure it’s only a matter of time!

Today, without a doubt, we were not wearing the same.  It was just a regular school day but  Amelia wanted my glasses.  I explained they were mine and that I needed them to drive.  She looked around the room until she had rooted out a pair of hers to wear too.  Love it!  I have had many comments at how much Amelia looks like a celebrity (I think it’s the glasses)…yes, she has definitely pulled off the celebrity status (and quite likes the attention too).

After realizing the positive reactions she was getting, she even wore them for some of her school day.  At least there’s some hope with sunglasses really staying on this summer!!

The Other Side Of The Pond

We made it! Travelling with a car seat, a two year old and various hand baggage is not easy. Being on a day flight for 10 hours is not easy. Trying to placate a two year old who is fed up on a 10 hour flight is not easy. But we did it and, considering the boredom levels and lack of food…yes they forgot to order her special food…she was so well behaved. The dogs were pleased we didn’t leave them forever, I think Rosie may have shed an ounce or two in the hopes she may be allowed home again. We were just exhausted when we got home. You know that feeling when your skin feels bruised. So sleep we did.

This morning, just to be sure that she could account for everything, Amelia brought ALL of her toys into the living room. Even her night light. Every time I tried to put things away she tipped them back out. So, it stayed that way until 6pm when she went to bed again!

I am watching you!!
