Curly Wurly

Wow look at those blond ringlets! These pictures, whilst nothing special, mean a lot to me right now for a few reasons.

1. She’s super blond and I doubt that will always be the case
2. She’s super curly and I also doubt she’ll always have those amazing curls!
3. The big picture is her new ‘smile’ face and I love it!
4. Those little toys you see in the pic of her sitting are what she’s ALL about. She can’t get enough and what makes us laugh is that she tries to carry so many that she has to use hand alternatives like stuffing some under her chin or clenched between her shoulder and her cheek and, on occasion, between her toes!!

I love every stage we go through, and at the time we’re going through it that stage is my favorite and I don’t want it to end. She’s just growing so quickly!

Sunrise at the beach

Well it’s been a while since we all featured in some pictures and honestly, I have been feeling guilty that we haven’t done more this year.  On July 4th, (my favorite American holiday), we all got ready for a beach shoot.  It was somewhat last minute but still some fun.  Despite some stony looks, we did have fun and more so now that we have all these shots to cherish.  I don’t even mind the one of Amelia and I showing off my very prominent double chin, in fact it’s a favorite.  I have learnt a few things since I had a child and the most important is that it matters less and less how we look, because we really don’t look as bad as we might think.  That being said, it didn’t stop me from getting my hair chopped off and colored this week!!

One thing that has changed this year is that Amelia sure likes the water and the sand.  Now that is something I am going to have to work on because I HATE the ocean and honestly, I don’t love the beach either.  But it’s a great nap-maker.  An hour on the beach wipes her out for a couple of hours.  I love how she squeals with delight when her toes touch the water.  So really it’s a love-hate relationship I have with the beach :)
