Well another weekend passes by but not without me learning an important and messy lesson. NEVER leave a curious toddler with mashed potatoes and hope to return to it still in the bowl. It was everywhere (as evidenced in the pics below). Actually you can’t see all of it…she had rubbed it in her hair, up her arms and on every surface she could possibly grab at. You know what potatoes can be like…the only way to know you got it all is by getting in the shower! I am beginning to think Dad’s idea of getting a wet room and hosing everything in it down after every meal might not be too bad of an idea . On the plus side she showed us that she loves marinated steak and some sweetcorn but we can’t get her to love mashed potatoes. A friend has suggested it could be the texture…that’s OK she likes plenty of other things and for now it’s no big deal.
Having grown up loving musicals and all the classics I was excited to see that Amelia tried her very hardest to sing along to parts of Mamma Mia. Grandma Betty will be so proud! It won’t be long before I try her on Torvil and Dean and she’ll be twirling around the living room pretending she’s also dancing on ice. I wonder if she’d like Shirley Temple…hmmm, mental note to look for Captain January.
All the excitement of the singing put Miss Amelia out early and, once she was comfortable, she had a nap…
Adam and I have been able to watch the season finales of our favorite shows and Grey’s certainly didn’t disappoint. No, I don’t make him watch it – he actually enjoys it!! It was a great season closer…We have next week to watch the final finales and then I am thinking about extending what Adam (and my FIL) likes to call the Honey-Do list so that boredom doesn’t set in over the summer. Anyone who knows me would know that I’m only half serious…who doesn’t like managing a good project or two, cracking the whip from time to time. Well, that’s how it plays in my mind, in reality it’s a little different! A girl can dream Adam can’t mind all that much because he was actually looking forward to his trip to Lowes (USA’s B&Q) once Milly was awake.
It’s sad when a day trip out to one of us means an adventure somewhere and possibly lunch or dinner out, but to the other it means Lowes for an hour hahaha…
But, it gave us a chance to get out of the house and then spend some much needed time in the garden…you know, with me overseeing and Adam doing all the work. Well, I couldn’t let Amelia just roam around on her own! Hehehe
All in all, it was a fun weekend and no more crying from me about the heat either since we now have cool air all through the house…It’s like a dream! Thanks Alan!!
